Success Story : Bash
ba&sh has clearly understood the link between speed and turnover, and the digital teams are actively addressing web performance issues. They monitor Google’s PageSpeed Insights score, and had already implemented a CDN, an essential best practice for an international site. To improve this score by applying techniques that are truly adapted to business needs, ba&sh automates its web performance with Fasterize.

CONTEXT
-
Context
For ba&sh, a site present in 32 countries, fast pages and a good PageSpeed score are directly correlated with increased conversion rates.
Web performance is a central topic that business teams have started to address by deploying a CDN, particularly to optimize images, an essential asset in fashion. The e-commerce site records 11 million page views per month, and must offer a user experience in line with its premium brand image, with fast pages on all devices, everywhere in the world.
Although the e-commerce teams located in the US provide advice on good web performance practices, the French teams needed to push the optimizations even further, using personalized recommendations consistent with technical and business constraints.

GOALS
-
Goals
The ba&sh e-commerce teams wanted to improve Core Web Vitals, the UX and SEO metrics that Google integrated into its algorithm in 2021. The goal was also to increase the PageSpeed Insights score, a KPI shared internally to assess performance, knowing that Core Web Vitals account for 70% in the calculation of this score.
Specifically, teams aimed for a score of 90, to move that PageSpeed score into the green for the site’s homepage, product listings, and product pages, knowing that a better user experience contributes to better conversion rates.

DEPLOYMENT
-
Deployment
ba&sh’s e-commerce teams needed to deploy Fasterize’s SaaS solution as quickly as possible, to take advantage of the immediate effects of optimizations during the holiday season.
The deployment took place over 6 weeks, requiring only a DNS registration. Internally, the project was coordinated by 3 resources: an E-commerce project manager, the CDO, and the digital project manager.
In a continuous improvement approach, adjustments are made as the platform is used with the help of the dedicated Customer Success. The goal is to ensure that performance indicators are always at their highest – for example, by optimizing photo sliders to guarantee the best possible CLS and maintain a high PageSpeed score – it reached 100 on the desktop homepage !

SUPPORT
-
Support
Since the deployment, the site has constantly welcomed new content and new features.
Before going live, ba&sh teams work with Fasterize teams to test the impact on performance and adjust platform parameters if necessary.
On a daily basis, teams use the platform independently to clear the cache and monitor performance closely, particularly during critical promotion periods.
In addition to the optimizations automatically applied by Fasterize’s SaaS solution, ba&sh teams benefit from personalized technical advice to continuously improve their performance.
For example, they concern the optimization of JS loading (only load the most recent version of JQuery), CSS (limit the number of rules, clean selectors, critical CSS, etc.), or fonts (use of system fonts, management of formatting via CSS, etc.).
