Discover the Edge Web and unleash the potential of your e-commerce site!

The melody repeats itself, almost like a refrain: will the next feature be developed on the server side or the client side? Unless a third way is emerging? Are you ready to redefine your paradigms?

Server side or Client side: the duel

You’ve probably faced the Server side / Client side dilemma before , and at different levels.
Regardless of which option you choose, each offers advantages and challenges that will leave their mark on performance, user experience, and ease of development.

To see things more clearly, let’s look at the advantages and disadvantages of these two approaches, through the prism of web rendering . Zoom in on server-side rendering (Server Side Rendering, SSR) and client-side rendering (Client Side Rendering, CSR)!

Server-side or client-side: each approach has its share of little hassles, and the dilemma obviously goes beyond the simple question of rendering .

With each new feature (or almost), the puzzle resurfaces, like A/B tests: opt for the client side (with good responsiveness, but some performance drops) or for the server side (involving a commitment to a solution, requiring IT resources, but which shines with its computing power and performance).

It is for these reasons that at Fasterize, we suggest you put this duality aside and dive into a third dimension: the web on the Edge side!

The advantages of an Edge-side web

Edge web offers a unique opportunity to create a dynamic user experience, while optimizing the availability, security and scalability of your site.

Flexibility

The Edge offers great flexibility in terms of scalability: you can therefore be sure that your traffic peaks are absorbed at all times!

Agility

Thanks to the Edge, it is possible to deploy new services quickly and without technical complexity. Innovate and adapt quickly to new trends!

Performance

By designing your web architecture using the Edge, you reduce the loading times of your pages and reduce latencies. Offer the best performance to your users!

The best of both worlds, at the Edge

Rethink the way your website is designed and delivered to users!
At Fasterize, our solutions are deployed “at the Edge”. In other words: between the server and the browsers.

Edge-side web design combines the advantages of both the server-side and the client-side. Unlike the client-side, where all actions take place in the user’s browser, our operations are deployed through our workers strategically distributed around the world, close to the end users.

The browser sends an http request to the platform. Fasterize intercepts Internet users' requests to the site (like a proxy).
Fasterize fetches requested pages and resources from origin servers and parses html, javascript, css and images.
Fasterize generates the optimized content before sending it back to the browser. This is of course cached if the response from the origin server allows it.
Fasterize applies the rules and optimizations built into the platform.
