The restaurant analogy

I recently made the following comment to one of our sales people: Fasterize is great, but what do you say to people who tell you they can do everything themselves?

He thought for 2 minutes and used the analogy of a restaurant. In fact, Fasterize is like a restaurant for people who have to have lunch or dinner (hungry people, that is!).

In a restaurant, the customer sits down, is advised, chooses his dishes, is served quickly and professionally, eats, is no longer hungry, pays his bill. Simple, fast, efficient.

When they decide to cook for themselves, you have to :

  • choose the ingredients (sometimes there’s a shortage)
  • buy the ingredients
  • prepare the recipe (it takes a long time!)
  • cooking (oh … it’s undercooked … or burnt!)
  • set the table, serve the different dishes,
  • eat
  • clear the table and clean up

Of course, when you have time at the weekend, it’s nice to cook. But when you’re in a hurry and have to hand in a report to your boss by 2pm …

I had fun pushing the analogy further: Fasterize is not junk food. We’re there to support our customers, to help them, and we take care to re-evaluate our rules regularly, sometimes changing them. In fact, it’s more like gastronomy that we’ve decided to offer to as many people as possible ;-).

Forget your Nightmares in the Kitchen and come to the table!
